Prototype of an autonomous bus shelter

Our second project involved prototyping and creating an environmentally-friendly, autonomous bus shelter. We had over 1 month to complete the project.

We had to do :

  • The Gantt diagram
  • The decision matrices
  • The preliminary study with BimSolar and DialuxEvo
  • The actual connection of elements
  • This project was beneficial for discovering the real use of a solar panel as well as batteries, regulators... And above all to see what the Energy and Environment specialization is all about.

    Final design

    Finally, we made an autonomous bus shelter. It is able to light up when a person is detected. It is also equipped with a solar panel to power the system. Then, it doesn't work during the day to save energy and store in the battery.

    The bus shelter is equipped with :

  • A solar panel monocristallin
  • A battery lithium ion
  • Sensors for brightness and presence
  • This bus shelter offers a more autonomous, safe and ecological solution for the planet and for human beings: autonomous and energy-producing. The light is activated as soon as there's insufficient light. So it's an exemplary way of saving money and making greater use of renewable energies.
